Pathetic turnout for ‘Wenger Out’ protest before Arsenal vs Everton

‘Wenger Out’ protest before Arsenal vs Everton

Pictures and video circluated on social media on Saturday as a Wenger Out protest was staged outside the Emirates Stadium.

In the past, calls for Arsene Wenger’s head have received huge support from Arsenal fans.

Not this weekend.

Most Arsenal fans believe the January transfer window was a relative success.

Yes, the Gunners are still short at the back and in their defensive midfield roles. But the departure of Alexis Sanchez to Man United was offset by the arrivals of Henrikh Mhkitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Arsenal.

With that as a backdrop, and with a nasty day north London, Saturday’s ‘Wenger Out’ protest drew a pathetic crowd.

You could count the number of attendees on two hands!

Of course, Wenger signed a two year contract at the end of last season.

Right now there’ little to suggest Wenger won’t see out the full length of that deal.

Arsenal vs Everton

Arsenal return to Premier League action this weekend after their defeat away at relegation strugglers Swansea on Tuesday evening.

Everton were victorious against Leicester on Wednesday evening with ex-Arsenal man Theo Walcott scoring a brace.

The defeat at Swansea was Arsenal’s 6th away loss of the season but The Gunners have been a formidable force at the Emirates stadium this season.

If only home from counted, Arsenal would currently be third in the table, behind Manchester United on goal difference whilst Manchester City would top the table.

Everton have picked up just 8 points on their travels this term and Arsenal should prove to be too strong for them, especially with a new star striker in town.
