Harry Kane & Son at Dortmund

Two unsung Spurs stars hailed for performances at Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund 1 – Tottenham 2

Spurs responded in some style to their north London derby defeat on Saturday at The Emirates.

Tottenham went into the half 1-0 down in Germany thanks to a fine Pierre Emerick Aubameyang opener.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side responded as soon as the goal went in and got their rewards in the second half with goals from Harry Kane and Heung Min Son.

There was plenty to admire about this Spurs victory, which confirmed the fact they qualify from the “Group of Death” in first position.

And, with one game to spare.

Mauricio Pochettino’s 100th win as Spurs manager

Compared to last season, Spurs are blitzing their Champions League group.

And, Tottenham have now left many of the English sides in the competition in a sticky spot.

Coming first in the group is usually considered a good thing, but now many of the other English teams have a serious chance of facing double European champions Real Madrid in the knockout rounds.

Moving back to Spurs, the victory at Borussia Dortmund was Mauricio Pochettino’s 100th as manager of the north London club.

Pochettino is the first manager at Tottenham since Keith Burkinshaw to hit this milestone.

High praise for Davinson Sanchez & Harry Winks performances

Tottenham fans had a lot to enjoy on Tuesday in Dortmund, especially the goals from Kane and Son.

With the much maligned Dele Alli providing both assists in the process.

But, it was the performances of Davinson Sanchez and Harry Winks that really enthused Spurs fans.

Sanchez was one of the few good performers at Arsenal on Saturday.

Whilst Winks has enjoyed an incredible Champions League campaign.
