Arsenal beat Chelsea
A few weeks ago in China, Chelsea looked head and shoulders above Arsenal as the Blues won a pre-season friendly 3-0.
But the Gunners exerted revenge for that defeat at Wembley on Sunday, as the Gunners lifted the Community Shield.
Chelsea took the lead at Wembley early in the second half through Victor Moses, while Sead Kolasinac levelled the score for the Gunners in the final stages of the game.
The match was resolved in a penalty shootout, which Arsenal won 4-1.
Fall-guy Thibaut Courtois
Arguably the biggest surprise in the shootout was that Chelsea goalie Thibaut Courtois stepped up to take the Blues second effort.
Unfortunately for the Belgium international, Courtois skied his woeful penalty over the Gunners bar.
After the match, Antonio Conte defended Courtois as the Italian claimed the keeper is one of the best spot-kick takers at Chelsea.

Social media reaction
The criticism surrounding Courtois’s penalty, however, clearly reached the Blues stopper.
After the Arsenal game, Courtois used Instagram Stories to hit back at his haters.
The goalie noted that his critics “love it when you break”.
Courtois will be looking to make a better impression next weekend when Chelsea take on Burnley on their Premier League opener at Stamford Bridge.
