Six Man United players criticised in draw at Leicester

Leicester 2 – Juan Mata 2

Manchester United were left to rue some woeful finishing at Leicester on Saturday evening.

It was the final game of a hectic day in the Premier League and Leicester turned on the style with a classic counter attack to take the lead.

Riyad Mahrez found himself in acres of space and played a delightful cushioned ball in for Jamie Vardy to make it 1-0.

Vardy has now scored 50 Premier League goals and his record against the “Big Six” is super impressive.

Juan Mata scores a rare brace

Juan Mata was the man who turned the game around for Manchester United. The Spaniard scored his first brace in the Premier League since a match at Liverpool in 2015.

The first Mata goal came via a Jesse Lingard assist.

Mata’s second looked to be the winner, and came in the second half from a simply brilliant free-kick, that was impressively placed past Kasper Schmeichel.

Manchester United fans not happy

Even when it looked like they were cruising to victory, fans of the Red Devils had plenty to moan about.

For the first goal, Manchester United defenders Chris Smalling, Ashley Young and Phil Jones were all criticised.

And, throughout the match, Manchester United missed key chances.

Anthony Martial missed a sitter. Jesse Lingard hit the post after rounding Schmeichel.

Whilst substitute Marcus Rashford also failed to score when presented with a one-on-one chance.

Then came the final blow for Manchester United: Harry Maguire’s late late equaliser for Leicester. 2-2 full time.
