Simon Mignolet appeared to have amnesia after Liverpool beat Stoke on penalties [Instagram]

Liverpool are 90 minutes away from winning a trophy.

That would be a terrific start to Jurgen Klopp in English football.

It may not have been in the manner they had planned for, but after losing 1-0 to Stoke in regulation time at Anfield last night, the Reds showed their bottle by winning a penalty shootout 6-5.

Peter Crouch missed the crucial penalty for the Potters, while it was left for the Welsh Pirlo, Joe Allen, to convert the critical spot-kick.

After the game Liverpool’s players took to social media to post their reactions to reaching Wembley

Liverpool goalie Simon Mignolet, who saved Crouch’s penalty plus another effort from Marc Muniesa, seemed to have amnesia after the win. He wrote on Instagram: ‘Just got home, not really knowing what happened!’

See that Instagram post below, together with other messages from Steven Gerrard, Mamadou Sakho, Jordon Ibe and more.
