The Blades extended their lead through Billy Sharp at the start of the second half. Anwar El Ghazi scored a consolation for Aston Villa.

After the match, Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder apologised to Aston Villa.

That’s after the man behind the club’s PA system issued a cheeky message. As reported in the Express & Star:

When the fourth official raised the stoppage time board, PA announcer Gary Sinclair jokingly proclaimed: “Unfortunately there are only two minutes of stoppage time.”

Though it amused the crowd, Wilder was left less than impressed.

Speaking after the game, he said: “I’ll deal with that because we’re a humble club. I apologise to Steve Bruce and the Aston Villa players because it’s not acceptable.”

It’s unclear why the fans starting fighting with each other.
