Sergio Ramos: Always in the limelight

Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos seems to always be the centre of attention and this has been no different in the aftermath of England’s fine win in Spain on Monday night.

Ramos was clattered in the first half by Eric Dier in a tackle that has gone viral in England. Even Liverpool fans have been celebrating it.

The central defender also scored Spain’s late consolation goal to make it 3-2 and after the game has been involved in a stamping controversy regarding Raheem Sterling.

Sergio Ramos accused of stamping on Raheem Sterling

Sergio Ramos was accused by many sources of stamping on England attacker Raheem Sterling.

The incident came in the second half of England’s 3-2 win with Sterling very unlucky not to have won a penalty for a challenge from Spain right back Jonny.

Ramos came over and according to some angles appears to stamp on the Manchester City attacker.

Sergio Ramos denies stamp on Sterling with video on Twitter

On Wednesday morning, Sergio Ramos has taken to Twitter to absolve himself of any blame for the suggested stamp.

Ramos Tweeted footage from the game – which could very possibly see his Twitter account hit with a copyright claim. At least most regular users could fear such an outcome.

And, it shows Ramos did not come anywhere near to touching Sterling.

Ramos, who only posted the clip on Twitter, as opposed to his other social media accounts, wrote: “Nothing else to say.”
