Rumour: Arsenal set to struggle with an ‘average XI’ vs Bournemouth

Bournemouth vs Arsenal

Bournemouth host Arsenal at the Vitality Stadium on Sunday.

Arsene Wenger will watch from the stands as he serves the last match of a three-match touchline suspension.

The Gunners were knocked out of the FA Cup third round last weekend after a 4-2 defeat at Championship side Nottingham Forest.

They followed that up with a 0-0 draw at Stamford Bridge in their Carabao Cup semi-final first leg. The draw leaves Wenger’s side without a win in any of their last four matches.

Although their overall form is not great, Arsenal have improved substantially away from home and are currently unbeaten in their last five away Premier League matches.

Arsenal’s ‘average XI’ vs Bournemouth

When it comes to Arsenal inside information, one of the most well-known ITKs is Twitter user @AFCAMDEN.

Hours before the Bournemouth game kicked off, it was revealed that Arsenal will play an “average” XI against the Cherries.

Unfortunately they were no specifics about how Arsene Wenger will line up his team.

Yet, the implication could be that Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil are once again in line to not start the match.

Elsewhere, Jack Wilshere remains a doubt with an ankle injury. The player who spent last season on loan at the Cherries was forced off in the FA Cup, although he has confirmed that the injury was not serious.

Olivier Giroud is expected to be out for another fortnight, while Nacho Monreal and Laurent Koscielny are still a week away from returning.

Theo Walcott looks like he may have already played his final match for the Gunners as talk of an exit increases.
