Rochdale’s official team sheet vs Tottenham was a complete mess

Rochdale vs Tottenham

Spurs travelled to Rochdale on Sunday in the FA Cup fifth round.

Tottenham failed to beat Newport County in the previous round away from home and had to wait for the replay to get the better of their Welsh opponents.

Rochdale, who are currently bottom of League 1 and destined to play in the fourth division next season, beat Millwall in the last round of the cup.

Mousa Dembele or Moussa Sissoko

When the official Tottenham team sheet came out for the Rochdale game the names read as follows:

Spurs XI: Vorm, Trippier, Alderweireld, Foyth, Rose, Wanyama, Winks, Dembele, Lucas, Son, Llorente.

Subs: Gazzaniga, Sanchez, Walker-Peters, Dier, Alli, Lamela, Kane.

But there was a big error on the Spurs team sheet as Moussa Sissoko was in fact selected, not Mousa Dembele.

Tottenham Hotspurs?

And there was another mistake on the official copy.

Instead of being called by their official name Tottenham Hotspur, the visitors were called ‘Tottenham Hotspurs’ on the memo.

And who is that linesman?

One of English football’s best known officials is Sian Massey-Ellis.

She was running the line for the FA Cup match.

But on the official team sheet she was called ‘Mr’.

Harry Kane on the bench

Tottenham fans were warned that Harry Kane could miss out on the Rochdale game with an injury.

But the sight of Kane on the bench means the England international’s knock isn’t that bad.

He shouldn’t miss any time in the Premier League or Champions League.

Cue the backlash

It didn’t take long for the errors to surface on social media.
