Only one West Ham player escaped criticism after Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace 2 – West Ham 2

It was a match Crystal Palace could ill afford to lose if the Eagles retain hopes of staying in the Premier League.

And, at halftime at Selhurst Park, there was only one winner.

Javier Hernandez fired West Ham into the lead, before Andre Ayew scored a sublime solo effort.

But a 50th minute penalty from Luka Milivojevic gave Palace hope against the Hammers, before an incredible finish to the match.

Picking up the ball on the inside left channel in the 97th minute, Wilfried Zaha worked his way inside before he curled a right-footed shot into the far corner.

West Ham’s best player

The Palace draw was cruel on one West Ham player in particular.

Since returning to the Premier League in the summer after a season with Torino in Serie A, Joe Hart has often been a target for fun.

Hart’s performances haven’t been the best in recent weeks, and many doubt whether he should be England’s number one at the World Cup.

But against Palace Hart was in sublime form. And Irons fans took to social media to sing his praises.

Joe Hart’s interview

After the Palace game, Hart spoke to the BBC. Looking close to tears, Hart said:

I can’t believe we’ve done that.

We’ve fought all the ay to the end and been so unprofessional at the end.
