New Spurs right back Serge Aurier impresses for Ivory Coast (video)

Will Serge Aurier play for Spurs at Everton?

Serge Aurier officially signed for Tottenham on transfer deadline day.

This came after a protracted transfer from PSG which was held up due to work permit issues.

Aurier missed the first three Premier League of Tottenham’s season, but is available for the Premier League match against Everton on Saturday.

It will be intriguing to see which of Tottenham’s new signings will be involved against Everton.

Surely the likes of Aurier, Davinson Sanchez and Fernando Llorente will be part of Mauricio Pochettino’s matchday squad.

Serge Aurier plays for Ivory Coast v Gabon twice

Over the international break, Aurier played for Ivory Coast in two games, both against Gabon.

Ivory Coast won the first game away from home 3-0. They were then surprisingly defeated 2-1 at home to Gabon on Tuesday.

These results still leave Ivory Coast in the driving seat to secure a World Cup spot but the Flying Elephants have two key games coming up in October and November.

Serge Aurier and his international team mates face Mali away and Morocco at home.

What can Spurs fans expect from Serge Aurier?

Whilst his off the pitch issues are well known, many Tottenham supporters will not have seen Serge Aurier play.

Helpfully, the video below showcases Aurier’s full individual performance in the 2-1 home defeat to Gabon.

There are undoubtedly many similarities between Aurier and Kyle Walker.

On the clip below, Aurier spends much of his performance in the opposition half. Powering forward to make chances for the Ivory Coast attackers.

Arguably, Aurier’s crossing is more impressive than Walker’s and it will be fascinating to see how he gets on in the Premier League.
