Alvaro Morata misses a sitter v Spurs
Chelsea’s 2-1 win at Wembley over Spurs was a huge result for the club.
For Alvaro Morata, it was not quite the best afternoon at Wembley with the Spanish striker playing 79 minutes.
Morata missed a sitter against Spurs in the early stages. Heading wide from a cross when perfectly placed in the Tottenham box.
Morata impressed versus Burnley
Generally, Morata worked hard, was often left on his own up front, and failed to have the same impact as he did in his first Premier League game for Chelsea.
Morata was one of the bright spots in Chelsea’s surprise loss to Burnley on the opening day of the Premier League season.
The Spaniard was thrown on and bagged a goal and assist for Chelsea in the surprise defeat.
Alvaro Morata hails Dele Alli
On Tuesday evening, after the 2-1 win over Spurs on Sunday, Alvaro Morata revealed who he swapped shirts with after the Premier League game.
Morata posted a picture on Instagram Stories of Dele Alli’s number 20 shirt and simply wrote “Top player thanks Dele Alli.”
Perhaps Morata is not truly aware yet of the animosity between Chelsea and Spurs?
