Tottenham 1 – Man City 3
Man City halted their three match losing streak in style on Saturday night.
Facing Spurs at Wembley, many had begun to think the wheel were falling off of Pep Guardiola’s side.
But after losing twice to Liverpool and to Man United in the derby, City rebounded in the capital.
The Sky Blues dominated the early stages against Spurs. A little like the United game, City race into a 2-nil lead with goals from Gabriel Jesus and Ilkay Gundogan.
But, just like against Man United, City gave Spurs hope when Christian Eriksen scored before the break.
This weekend, however, City didn’t implode as Raheem Sterling scored a killer third in the second half.
Gary Neville: ‘Eden Hazard is better than Raheem Sterling’
In his podcast after the Spurs-Man City game, Gary Neville made the case that Raheem Sterling still has plenty of improving to go.
Neville compared the England international to Chelsea’s Eden Hazard.
For Neville, Chelsea’s Hazard is still a better player than Sterling, regardless on their performances this season.
Hazard was praised for the way he keeps the ball. As for Sterling, Neville agreed that the Man City forward can still have trouble striking a shot cleanly.
In the bigger picture, Neville discussed what Man City have to do next season.
The former Man United defender explained that retaining the Premier League title, while City go again in the Champions League, will be incredibly tough.
Neville also celebrated a “wonderful season” for Pep Guardiola’s side; they are in touching distance of being crowned Premier League champions.
