Despite the fact Nani spent last season on loan at Sporting Lisbon, there have been plenty of tributes paid to the Portuguese winger after he finally left Manchester United for good.
Fenerbahce have so far welcomed Nani to Turkey with open arms and the Turkish giants seem rather excited about the Portuguese winger’s arrival.
Both Rio Ferdinand and Manchester United have been gushing in their praise for Nani on social media since his departure.
On Tuesday evening, Nani returned the favour and penned a farewell letter on Instagram to mark his departure from Old Trafford.
Alongside an Instagram collage of no less than four trophies, Nani says he leaves Manchester “with many titles and memories.”
Whilst Nani does thank Sir Alex Ferguson, there is no direct mention of David Moyes or unsurprisingly Louis van Gaal.
In addition, there is a surprising lack of recognition towards the Manchester United support, who in truth did not always back Nani and perhaps felt he was a pale imitation of former team mate Cristiano Ronaldo.
Nevertheless, we suspect many Manchester United fans will appreciate the sentiment contained within this Instagram post.
