Michy Batshuayi on ‘laughing’ claims as Arsenal beat Chelsea

Michy Batshuayi celebrates v Arsenal

Arsenal 4 – Chelsea 1

Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has taken to social media on Monday to counter claims about the interpretation of his behaviour during Sunday’s Community Shield against Arsenal.

The Gunners, who beat Chelsea in the recent FA Cup final, again triumphed over the Blues in the curtain-raiser before the Premier League season.

Arsenal won the match 4-1 on penalties after the London rivals drew 1-1 after 90 minutes.

Chelsea took the lead at Wembley early in the second half through Victor Moses, while Sead Kolasinac levelled the score for the Gunners in the final stages of the game.

Conte’s strikers

Less than a week before the start of the new campaign, many still have questions about Chelsea’s attack.

Diego Costa remains on the Blues’ books, while Graeme Souness is worried the Spanish international could derail Chelsea’s season.

Meanwhile, Alvaro Morata has signed from Real Madrid, however it’s likely to take him a little bit of time to bed into his new surroundings.

So could Michy Batshuayi start the season up front for Antonio Conte?

The Belgian was in Chelsea’s starting XI against Arsenal on Sunday, before he was replaced by Morata midway through the second half.

Morata went on to miss his spot-kick in the shootout.

At the same time, Batshuayi has been accused of laughing as the Blues lost to Arsenal.

The Belgian, who is known for activity on Twitter, used the platform on Monday to dispel the online rumours.

Without explaining why he was smiling like a Cheshire Cat, he said he wasn’t laughing at any of his team mates.
