Barcelona produce another horrible away Champions League performance
It was very much deja vu on Tuesday night as Barcelona produced another horrible performance in a Champions League away first leg.
Whilst they did not lose 4-0, Barcelona were out of sorts from the start and desperately missed the calming influence of midfielder Sergio Busquets.
The 3-0 result is bad enough, considering that Leo Messi has never scored a goal against Gianluigi Buffon, which is an incredible record.
Dybala x2 & Chiellini
Paulo Dybala did the damage for Juventus in the first half, scoring on 6 and 22 minutes, both fine finishes from the 21-year-old Argentine.
And, in the second half it got worse for Barcelona, with Giorgio Chiellini scoring a header from a corner, despite the best efforts of Javier Mascherano.
Barcelona might well produce another brilliant comeback but they have certainly made life difficult for themselves yet again.
Where were Leo Messi and Neymar?
Even when they were 3-0 down, one away goal would have made a huge difference to Barcelona.
Unfortunately for Luis Enrique’s side, two of their three main attackers were very quiet throughout.
Leo Messi struggled to make any impact against an aggressive Juventus side keen to close down space.
Similarly, Neymar was far from the player who has shined for Brazil of late, and was the instigator of the incredible PSG comeback at the Camp Nou.
Luis Suares was also very poor for Barcelona as the MSN completely failed.
Will Messi and Neymar be criticised for the defeat? We suspect the Catalan media will call for squad changes with the likes of Jeremy Mathieu and Andre Gomes seriously struggling.
Despite a summer of building up the Barcelona squad, it looks like the Catalans did not sufficiently bring in the right players to support their MSN attack.
Or perhaps, the next coach of Barcelona will decide that playing all three away in the Champions League is a risk too far?
Messi & Neymar slaughtered for awful performances
Is Neymar playing?

Looks like Dani Alves is successfully shutting Neymar down on the flank. Best right back in history.

One of the worst displays I've seen from Messi-Suarez-Neymar trio.

Question: So Neymar has been handed a 3 match ban from La Liga, does it include UCL? Cos he's not on the pitch
