Manchester United’s record with Marouane Fellaini this season: 6 wins, 6 draws, 8 losses.
Manchester United’s record without Marouane Fellaini this season: 9 wins, 3 draws, 0 losses.
Essentially, when Fellaini plays, United are more likely to lose than win. And, when the afro-haired Belgian doesn’t appear, it is usually a good day for Louis van Gaal’s side.
On Sunday afternoon, Marouane Fellaini was named in the Manchester United starting line-up for the clash at Liverpool.
In fairness to Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal, what other choice did he have but to play Fellaini?!
Injuries to Bastian Schweinsteiger and Michael Carrick means there is really only one option to partner Morgan Schneiderlin.
Sure, the likes of Memphis Depay and Juan Mata are on the bench, but it would be a big gamble to include either of them in the centre of midfield.
Nevertheless, after a poor display at Newcastle, and with a pretty horrible record this season, United fans are not happy about Fellaini’s inclusion…

Only reasoning for Fellaini starting is Liverpool's poor record from set pieces. Could exploit it, other than that, a worry.

My dad has been watching United for over 50 years, he's just said Fellaini is by far one of the worst he's seen wearing the #mufc shirt

It's like LvG is asking for the sack by seemingly playing Fellaini deep against a high-pressing side.

Liverpool in a 4-3-3 and we have 2 in midfield and one of them is Fellaini. Lord help us!

From Ronaldo and Scholes to Lingard and Fellaini.

Fellaini in this sort of match is one of two things; a nightmare to play for the opponents or a nightmare to watch for his team's fans.

Fellaini looks so out of his depth playing in CM alongside Schneiderlin. He doesn’t have the legs for it and just ends up fouling them.

Do not get sent off Fellaini.
