Brighton vs Arsenal
When the team sheets came out on Sunday before the Brighton and Arsenal game, Gunners fans got angry.
It’s been a torrid time for the Gunners in recent weeks, following their successive defeats to Man City.
If Swedish minnows Östersunds can win at the Emirates just a few weeks ago, of course Brighton can win.
The Gunners have lost four of their last five, and five of their last seven.
Man City backlash? Hector Bellerin & Aaron Ramsey
Arsenal fans hoping that Arsene Wenger would ring the changes after the Man City defeat on Thursday were left underwhelmed.
The team sheets read as follows:
Brighton: Ryan, Bong, Dunk, Duffy, Schelotto, Knockaert, Stephens, Propper, Izquierdo, Gross, Murray.
Subs: Krul, Goldson, Bruno, Kayal, March, Ulloa, Locadia.
Arsenal: Cech, Chambers, Koscielny, Mustafi, Kolasinac, Ozil, Wilshere, Xhaka, Iwobi, Mkhitaryan, Aubameyang.
Subs: Ospina, Holding, Bellerin, Maitland-Niles, Elneny, Welbeck, Nketiah.
The only Arsenal player who was dropped from the Man City game was Hector Bellerin.
Arsenal fans react
Bellerin has upset plenty of Arsenal fans in recent weeks.
The Spanish defender has been embroiled in a war of words with Arsenal Fan TV, while many supporters simply believe he’s underperformed this season.
The truth is that many Arsenal fans were happy Bellerin was out the XI against Brighton.
And Ramsey? Fans didn’t seem too bothered about that either.
First time since May 10 that Bellerin has not started in the Premier League. One eye on Milan…? #AFC

Arsenal team news: Hector Bellerin, who has played more minutes than Petr Cech this season, is finally given a breather ahead of next week's Europa League match against AC Milan. Chambers comes in. pic.twitter.com/tncLH8cnSK

Chambers starting instead of Bellerin 🤦♂️

Few late changes to the Arsenal line up, hence @Arsenal’s delay in getting the starting XI graphic out. Ramsey banished to the sidelines for being the rat.

Wise move to rest Ramsey ahead of Thursday, surprised Wenger has gone as strong as he has. Was expecting one of Ozil or Mkhi to be rested as well.

Ramsey isn't the rat lads lol, no chance. @AFCAMDEN keeps saying it because he's trying to protect his darling little Jack Wilshere.
