Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher deletes Tweet about Danny Simpson

Jamie Carragher is well known for his social media antics, with the former Anfield star having been involved in numerous Twitter spats with current and former footballers over recent years.

In the most recent of Carra’s online rows, the Sky Sports pundit has taken aim at Leicester City’s Danny Simpson.


Issues between the pair arose in March when Simpson called Carragher out for donning an Everton kit during an interview with Romelu Lukaku, with tensions having reached boiling point this evening.

Carragher reignited the feud yesterday by posting the following on Twitter:

Simpson responded with a poke at the former Reds’ man’s lack of a Premier League winner’s medal:

But Foxes man Simpson couldn’t help but have one final pop at the former English international:


Nasty turn

While Simpson’s jibe will have been deemed unnecessary by many, the follow-up by Carra was downright out of order.

Pointing to the fact that Danny Simpson was previously convicted of trying to strangle an ex-girlfriend in 2015, the pundit posted this:


The post was quickly removed, but not before a number of onlookers had managed to save screenshots of Carragher’s nasty jab.

Making up

The pair have since posted apologies to their Twitter accounts, with the feud likely to be over for good in the wake of such an unexpectedly serious turn.
