Danny Ings Liverpool WBA return

Danny Ings makes his Liverpool comeback

Liverpool closed out their Premier League campaign on Sunday with an away trip to West Brom.

When the team sheets filtered out of the Hawthorns an hour before kick off, one name jumped off the paper on the Liverpool setup.

For the first time in seven long months, striker Danny Ings was named on the bench for the Reds.

The 23-year-old has missed almost the entirety of the season after he ruptured a cruciate ligament in Klopp’s first training session as Liverpool manager in October.

That injury came just days after Ings had made his England debut in a European Championship qualifier against Lithuania.

Another plus for the Reds

The absence of Ings, along with Daniel Sturridge, for large parts of the season, has undoubtedly been a factor why the Reds are outside the top six this season.

Not only was Ings a boost on the subs bench, but Jordan Henderson was also included on bench for the Baggies game.

Henderson still has a chance of being named in the England squad for the European Championships in France. Roy Hogdson will name his squad this week.
