Liverpool fans react badly to Craig Pawson getting the Man United game

Referee Craig Pawson: Manchester United vs Liverpool

It’s been confirmed on Tuesday that Craig Pawson will be the referee for Saturday’s match between Man United and Liverpool in the Premier League.

The assistants will be Gary Beswick and Peter Kirkup, and the fourth official is Martin Atkinson.

The match will be pivotal in the race for second place.

Jose Mourinho’s men moved into second on Monday night with a 3-2 win at Crystal Palace. United showed great spirit at Selhurst Park as they rallied from 2-down to win on the road.

Man United have 62 point from 29 games, two more than Liverpool.

Liverpool beat Newcastle United 2-0 last weekend.

Liverpool fans vs Craig Pawson

Liverpool fans have reacted badly to the appointment of Craig Pawson for the match at Old Trafford.

Pawson has been involved in several high profile decisions this season, including one involving Liverpool.

In the first Merseyside derby of the season, Everton claimed a draw at Anfield thanks to a Wayne Rooney penalty.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin won the Everton penalty in a highly debatable incident, while it was ref Pawson who pointed to the spot.
