Colwyn Bay vs FC Trafford abandoned
There was an incredible scary scene on Saturday during the Evo-stik North playoff clash between Colwyn Bay and FC Trafford.
The match was abandoned in the second half after Colwyn Bay’s Danny Frost needed life-saving treatment on the pitch.
Danny Frost swallowed his tongue
In the 65th minute, Colwyn Bay’s Danny Frost was taken out in an aerial challenge.
Not only did Danny Frost suffer a head injury, he also ended up swallowing his tongue.
As reported in the North Wales Pioneer, Frost was saved by quick thinking linesman Zharir Mustafa:
With medics not wanting to move the player after he swallowed his tongue, the air ambulance was alerted, but it had to abort the journey due to low cloud and poor visibility and as a result it was over an hour before a land ambulance arrived.
Players rushed to his assistance as (Danny Frost) started to fit, and the referee’s assistant administered immediate life-saving first aid as the medics raced across from the dugout.
Thankfully Zharir Mustafa’s help avoided a horror story.
Frost was eventually taken to hospital, and he’s since taken to social media to confirm he’s OK.
Words Carnt describe how grateful I am and overwhelmed with all your messages I’d like to thank everyone @ColwynBayFC & @FCTrafford stewards fans and officials for everything you did today #NonLeagueFootball #Thankful #much❤️❤️
