Leicester on alert: Adrien Silva drops big news on social media

Leicester & Adrien Silva

It’s now 19 days since the summer transfer window closed, and Leicester are still waiting to ‘sign’ Adrien Silva.

Earlier in the month, FIFA revealed they had rejected Leicester City’s registration of Adrien Silva.

The Portugal midfielder was a deadline day signing by the 2016 Premier League champions, joining from Sporting CP.

But the paperwork backing up the deal was submitted late. 14 seconds late, to be exact, and FIFA have so far refused to play ball.

Sporting and Leicester had agreed a £22 million fee for the 28-year-old.

Last weekend, the Mirror claimed that “Leicester have won their fight to sign Adrien Silva”, and the deal will be ratified this week.

But, at the time of writing, the rubber-stamp has yet to arrive.

Silva has spent his entire professional career as a Sporting player, although he did have loan spells with Maccabi Haifa and Academia.

The midfielder has won 20 caps for Portugal and was in the squad which was triumphant at Euro 2016.

Adrien Silva on social media

As the whole Leicester transfer saga swirls on, Adrien Silva has revealed some awesome news on social media.

The Portuguese international has revealed that he and his partner Magarida Neuparth are expecting a child.

Silva made the announcement on Instagram, revealing the ultrasound of his new child.

The young couple, who have been together for about six years, already have two children, Thomas and Santiago.
