Laurent Koscielny has a habit of scoring very important goals for Arsenal and we can add another one to the list today.

The Frenchman popped up to score for Arsenal against Newcastle just when the Toon were looking more dangerous at The Emirates on Saturday.

Newcastle had begun the second half in fine fashion but could not find a way past Petr Cech and were then undone from a corner by Mesut Ozil, that was flicked on by Olivier Giroud and finished from close range by Koscielny.

After the game, Koscielny took to Twitter and marked the goal and 1-0 victory with a dressing room picture.

Koscielny explained that the “4 and 1” he was holding up was for his brother-in-law in a subsequent Tweet.

In addition, also hitting social media was Mathieu Flamini, who remains undefeated in Premier League matches at The Emirates.

A pretty incredible record. A number of the comments on Instagram urge Flamini to be rewarded with a new contract before he leaves on a free transfer at the end of the season…
