Stoke 1 – Brighton 1
It ended all-square at the Bet365 Stadium on Saturday.
In a match between two clubs in major danger of the drop, Stoke were held to a 1-1 draw by Brighton.
Brighton, who often struggle to find the target, broke the deadlock with a sublime goal just after the half hour.
Colombian winger Jose Izquierdo played two 1-2s to break into the Stoke box, and he produced a cool finish to beat Jack Butland.
Stoke levelled in the second half through their star midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri The Swiss international found the target from outside the box.
But Stoke had a chance to win all three points, which they blew.
Jese & Charlie Adam’s missed penalty
In the final minutes of the match Stoke won a late penalty.
Dale Stephens pushed Stoke forward Jese and the ref immediately pointed to the spot.
But Jese wasn’t allowed to take the penalty. After protesting with his teammates, the Spanish forward was forced off the job while Charlie Adam took responsibility.
But Adam’s penalty was saved and pushed onto the post, the midfielder couldn’t score the rebound, and two points went down the toilet.
On a Stoke penalty that would have bought them a valuable three points, Jesé went berserk he was not allowed to take the kick and essentially iced his own teammate Charlie Adam who missed the resulting shot. Astonishing relegation zone moment

An abomination just there at #StokeCity. Dodgy penalty won as Dale Stephens "pushed" Jese. Jese then throws his toys out of the pram as he cannot take the pen, thus mounting pressure on Charlie Adam. Adam misses the kick and the rebound. Team disunity at its best. #BHAFC
