Ivorian rapper DJ Arafat slags off Man City’s Yaya Toure in song, says Chelsea’s Drogba is ‘real captain’

The fallout from the Ivory Coats’s poor showing at the World Cup still hasn’t subsided back in west Africa.

The big celebrity scandal dominating the Ivorian press currently surrounds a new single from rapper DJ Arafat, which directly calls out Manchester City’s Yaya Toure in song.

DJ Arafat attacked the Man City man in his lyrics, while proclaiming Chelsea striker Didier Drodga as the “real captain” of the Elephants.

In his rap “Elephants, we are tired of you”, DJ Arafat spat in his native tongue:

Yaya Toure, you wanted the armband and today you have the armband, but you’re just giving [performance of someone] in a brewery.

Bring Drogba! Drogba [is our] champion! Drogba is the number 1. You’re jealous, just go hang yourself.

As you may have expected, Yaya Toure and his people have not taken too kindly to those words, and friction between the rapper and footballer has broken out.

That has lead DJ Arafat to take his criticism to Twitter too.
