Real Madrid 0 – Barcelona 3
Barcelona took a significant step towards lifting the La Liga title on Saturday.
Goals from Luis Suarez, Leo Messi and Aleix Vidal secured a huge three points at Real Madrid.
Cristiano Ronaldo had a goal ruled out in just the second minute for offside. That’s as close as Los Blancos came to scoring.
Los Blancos are now 14 points behind the Catalans in the title race, although Real do have one game in hand.
But will that be enough? In a weekend which also saw Espanyol beat Atletico Madrid, Barcelona are clear at the top.
‘Isco refused to warm up’
After Real lost El Clasico, Diario AS ran a story titled: Isco refused to carry on warming up after Nacho brought on.
Isco was left on the bench by Zinedine Zidane during the Barcelona defeat.
But AS called out the Spanish international reporting the following:
When Zinedine Zidane brought on Nacho Fernández, Isco reportedly stopped his warm-up and returned to the bench, despite his introduction still being a possibility.
Isco’s return to the dugout may prove to be controversial… as it appears to have been a unilateral decision by the midfielder at a time when a change to Zidane’s chosen substitutes that might have seen him thrown on was seemingly still a possibility.
Isco: ‘Stop talking sh*t’
Isco was clearly angry when he read the report in AS.
The Real Madrid playmaker has taken to social media to slam the Spanish paper. He wrote:
top spreading shit, my other two team-mates [Asensio and Bale] were [still] going to go on… Since when can you make four substitutions?
Dejar de meter mierda que ya iban a salir mis otros dos compañeros… no sabía yo que sé podían hacer 4 cambios https://t.co/CFnYgNZcbM
