Injured Benjamin Mendy trolls Man City team mate after Crystal Palace rout

Manchester City 5 – Crystal Palace 0

To no one’s surprise, Manchester City romped home to a big victory over Crystal Palace at The Etihad on Saturday.

Leroy Sane opened the scoring a minute before half-time and in the second half the flood gates really opened.

Raheem Sterling added a brace just after half-time. Sergio Aguero and Fabian Delph added further gloss to the scoreline in the final stages.

A tough afternoon for Benjamin Mendy

For Benjamin Mendy though the afternoon was a disappointment.

The former Monaco left back who has become a fans favourite at Manchester City, thanks to his brilliant use of social media, came off injured early on.

Mendy was withdrawn on 25 minutes after receiving a kick. He was also booked just before coming off.

Benjamin Mendy will be assessed after he was forced off with a knee injury in the rout over Crystal Palace.

Pep Guardiola said after the 5-0 win: “Hopefully, it is just a kick. We will see the situation tomorrow.”

Benjamin Mendy Trolls Kyle Walker on Twitter

After the game, despite the injury, Mendy has been on point with his social media game.

On his injury, Mendy Tweeted: “Tough knock for me but i will be ok inch’allah thx for your messages !!”

Then Mendy took aim at Kyle Walker, by asking for fans to post the moment when the Manchester City right back was nutmegged by a Crystal Palace attacker.

Mendy offered his match shirt for the clip and it duly arrived in seconds of asking!

Benjamin Mendy was amusingly trolled by Manchester City just a few weeks ago as he was nutmegged and the official club Twitter account sent him a GIF of the incident.

Manchester City and Benjamin Mendy are flying high at the top of the Premier League and keeping us all amused in the process!
