Tottenham are struggling in the Premier League!
Surely Spurs are not putting all their eggs in the basket of the Champions League this season?!
It is starting to feel that way right now – whilst Spurs have beaten Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund in recent weeks, the bread and butter of the Premier League is becoming a real struggle.
Since the international break, Spurs have lost at Arsenal, where they were very poor in the north London derby.
And, that game was followed up by more Wembley woes against “smaller sides” as Tottenham were held to a 1-1 draw by West Brom on Saturday.
Jamie Vardy & Riyad Mahrez score great goals
The first half for Tottenham at Leicester was a disaster.
Marc Albrighton chipped over the Spurs defence and Jamie Vardy produced an exquisite finish for 1-0 Leicester.
Then came the Spurs comeback. Both Moussa Sissoko and Dele Alli missed guilt-edged chances and Mauricio Pochettino’s side were made to pay.
On the stroke of half-time, Tottenham’s hopes of getting anything from the King Power were left in tatters.
Riyad Mahrez cut inside Jan Vertonghen and curled a glorious effort past Hugo Lloris.
What is going wrong at Spurs?
Tottenham have been lavished with praise since beating Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund (twice).
Yet there is a lot that isn’t right at Tottenham, not least the fact that they are playing their home matches at Wembley.
Where many sides (e.g. Swansea, Burnley and West Brom) are raising their game.
Tottenham undoubtedly miss the calming influence of Toby Alderweireld and have really struggled virtually all season without Victor Wanyama.
And, a number of Spurs players look tired, including Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen – who missed a sitter in the second half.
Throw in the fact that Fernando Llorente is yet to score for Spurs and things are not looking good at all.
The Spaniard missed a huge chance after Harry Kane had reduced arrears.
Tottenham fans blame the Guillem Balague book
Another theory is also emerging.
On October 26, 2017, Guillem Balague and Mauricio Pochettino published a book together.
Titled a “Brave New World” – Spurs’ Premier League results have been disastrous since the book came out.
And, there are signs that not all is well in the Spurs camp. For example, Eric Dier’s form has been pretty poor since the book was published.
And, it features details about Dier and Jose Mourinho.
Plenty of Spurs fans have noticed this trend, see the Tweets below.
Pochettino getting it wrong agajn in the league? Awful month for Spurs. But enjoy reading his book 👍

How’s Spurs record since the book came out?! Coincidence sure but so unnecessary
— Jon Miller (@JonnyMiller81) November 28, 2017
Shouldn't say this
BUT I can't wait for this season to be over already
We are NOT the same team of last 2 seasons
HAS POCHS BOOK UPSET THE BALANCE SOME HOW?
