Everton fans destroy Ronald Koeman after Brighton

Brighton 1 – Everton 1

Before kick off, many football fans were upset that Brighton v Everton wasn’t broadcasted on TV.

They shouldn’t have been. For the large majority of the game, nothing happened, while both sides had chances in the final stages.

Heading into the Brighton game, Ronald Koeman was already on thin ice.

The Dutch boss went to the south coast under huge pressure with his side losing four of their last five league matches. And then that became five defeats in six.

As Brighton cranked up the late pressure as Anthony Knockaert pounced on slack Everton defending to score the winner.

But Everton got a stroke of luck at the death. Bruno was punished for a block on Dominic Calvert-Lewin, the ref pointed to the spot and Wayne Rooney scored.

‘Ronald Koeman out!’

Everton fans are furious.

Romelu Lukaku’s shadow casts a wide berth over the current Everton team, while Wayne Rooney is fast becoming the disaster signing many predicted.

The Everton defence is incredibly brittle. Michael Keane simply hasn’t settled since arriving from Burnley, and Jordan Pickford is unable to stop every shot that comes his way.

As for Ronald Koeman, fans have no confidence in his tacticla nous right now. Should he really have subbed Idrissa Gueye against Brighton?

Once the Seagulls took the lead, and in truth long before that too, Everton fans took to social media to call for Koeman’s head.

The angry reactions are below.
