Everton fans celebrate as Ronald Koeman is sacked

Everton sack Ronald Koeman

To no one’s surprise, Everton have sacked Ronald Koeman.

The writing was very clearly on the wall for Koeman after a disastrous couple of games for the Toffees.

Everton were doing poorly long before matches against Lyon and Arsenal ensured they picked up two seriously damaging home results.

Lyon & Arsenal defeats the final straw

Lyon won at Goodison Park in the Europa League, amid ugly scenes involving Ashley Williams and a supporter.

Arsenal ran riot on Sunday at Everton, scoring five goals and it could well have been a lot more.

Everton announced Koeman’s departure and Toffees supporters have reacted in raptures to the news.

Ultimately, as the empty seats in the final stages of the defeat to Arsenal showed, there was simply no way back for Koeman.

Everton are 18th in the Premier League

Even after guiding Everton into the Europa League.

The big summer spend conducted by Everton, Koeman and Steve Walsh, heaped the pressure on the Dutch manager.

Koeman leaves the club in 18th, in serious danger of relegation.

No wonder Everton fans are applauding the move.
