Everton fans call for Sam Allardyce to be sacked during Arsenal rout

Should Sam Allardyce be sacked as Everton boss?

Sam Allardyce was appointed as Everton manager on November 30, 2017.

Just over two months later, Everton fans are calling for Allardyce to be sacked.

There seems little doubt that football fans these days have very short memories and are quick to call for managers to be sacked.

However, Sam Allardyce is struggling at Everton right now and there have been some seriously questionable decisions of late.

Arsenal 5 – Everton 1

Not for the first time under Allardyce, Everton were routed by one of the bigger teams and there were very few extenuating circumstances.

Arsenal had the Premier League match wrapped up in 19 minutes.

Aaron Ramsey bagged a hat-trick, Laurent Koscielny and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang also scored for Arsenal.

Dominic Calvert-Lewin pulled one back but Everton were unlucky not to concede seven or eight at the Emirates.

Arsenal were genuinely unlucky not to score more than four goals in the first half.

So many strange Sam Allardyce decisions at Arsenal…

After the 4-0 defeat at Wembley to Spurs, Sam Allardyce said Everton would tighten up, but today simply proves they haven’t or can’t.

The signing of Eliaquim Mangala immediately looks very strange. A defender not good enough for Manchester City, shouldn’t walk into the Everton side.

Gylfi Sigurdsson, Wayne Rooney and Cenk Tosun were all left on the bench at Arsenal. The first two are potential match winners.

And, Tosun was Everton’s big January signing.

Michael Keane was hauled off at half-time at Arsenal, but was the former Burnley central defender worse than Mangala or Cuca Martina?

And, why was Theo Walcott hauled off on the hour?
