Eric Bailly injured v Swansea

Eric Bailly raised Nike questions against Liverpool

Eric Bailly vs Liverpool

Eric Bailly has a superb match for Man United last weekend against Liverpool in the Premier League.

And that’s taken into the equation the fact that Bailly scored an own goal.

Liverpool struggled to find a way around Bailly as the Ivorian dominated Roberto Firmino.

Bailly, of course, has just recently returned from a long spell on the sidelines.

Man United star has Nike issues?

Eagle-eyed boot watchers noticed something interesting about Bailly’s footwear against Liverpool last weekend.

Bailly wore a pair of Nike boots, but their was no Nike advertising on the shoes.

The issue has been picked up by the good people at Footy Headlines:

Manchester United defender Eric Bailly made his return from injury in Man Utd’s 2-1 win over Liverpool wearing a pair of extraordinary soccer boots.

Based on the Nike Tiempo Legend VII ‘Fire’ edition, Eric Bailly has blacked-out his white Swooshes of his boots in order to give Nike no free advertising.

However, while Bailly wore custom blacked-out Nike Tiempo Legend cleats in the Premier League clash against Liverpool, he used standard Nike Tiempo Legend cleats in training.

Putting two and two together, the assumption is that Bailly is in contract talks with Nike.

Could the Man United star be about to join a different brand instead?

Man United vs Sevilla

Man United scored a 0-0 draw in the first leg in Spain, which means a score-draw for Sevilla at Old Trafford would advance them into the quarterfinals.

For the record, Sevilla have already registered a score draw in England in the Champions League as they drew 2-2 with Liverpool at Anfield in the group stage.

The big injury concern for Man United against Sevilla is Paul Pogba.

While Jose Mourinho did his best on Monday to suggest Pogba could be available, the French midfielder could be sidelined with a knock.
