Should Dele Alli even be playing at Burnley?
Spurs midfielder Dele Alli is simply unable to keep out the headlines, whether he is playing for Spurs or England.
In recent weeks, with Dele struggling for form and as he looks to choose another agent, this has been accentuated.
For many, Dele Alli shouldn’t even be playing for Spurs at Burnley on Saturday.
Dele put in a shocking challenge on Kevin De Bruyne in Tottenham’s 4-1 defeat to Manchester City last Saturday.
In the end, it spurred on De Bruyne to make it 2-0 but Dele only bagged a yellow card.
Dele Alli’s opening 7 minutes at Burnley
Within the opening few minutes of the game, Dele Alli put in a shocking challenge on Burnley’s Charlie Taylor.
Dele went to ground way too early and could well have received a red card from referee Michael Oliver.
The Spurs midfielder was only booked after four minutes and then significantly impacted the game three minutes later.
Dele wins a penalty for Harry Kane to score at Burnley
Dele Alli went down in the box from a challenge by Kevin Long and Spurs had a penalty.
On another day, Dele could have received a second booking for diving after seven minutes.
Instead, Tottenham took the lead thanks to a curling Harry Kane penalty.
Cue so much Twitter outrage towards Dele Alli…
Twitter rages at Dele
Dele Alli shouldn't even be playing in this match never mind still on the pitch for the foul earlier. Team of cheats and thugs.

If Dele Alli played for anyone else, I would despise him.

Dele Alli's second straight red tackle in 2 games. Yellow card. He IS that type of player. Pathetic refereeing.

It’s like Dele Alli is permanently on his period this season. 😳

Dele Alli is a dirty player – English or not, the media need to stop protecting him. It won't be long before he seriously hurts someone.

A leg breaking tackle on De Bruyne last week. Going down easily for a penalty today. Dele Alli is becoming the ultimate shithouse.

Is there a more unlikeable footballer in the #PremierLeague right now than Dele Alli? And the survey says…errr NO!!!

Dele Alli just overtaken Ander Herrera as the most annoying cunt in the premier league

A nasty challenge then a dive in the opening 8 minutes. Dele Alli should just call the referee a d*ckhead and admit he can't be arsed playing over Christmas.

According to the Laws of the Game, when Dele Alli kicks out to draw contact (and fake the foul) that is actually a foul by Alli. You cannot kick your opponent, even if that kick is meant to pretend that you got fouled. Last time I checked this rule applies even if you're English.
