Ever since Cristiano Ronaldo exploded onto the scene at Manchester United, we have been told that the Portuguese superstar is a selfish player.

To a certain extent, Ronaldo has to be selfish on the pitch, to score as many goals as he has for Manchester United, Real Madrid and Portugal.

On Saturday, Ronaldo became Real Madrid’s all-time top goal scorer with a simply outstanding display – scoring five goals at Espanyol.

But, of course, it wasn’t all Ronaldo’s work and the likes of Luka Modric, Gareth Bale (2) and Lucas Vázquez all provided assists on Saturday.

After the 6-0 win at Espanyol, Ronaldo’s social media posts were quite intriguing considering how he is often considered so selfish.

On Facebook and Instagram, Ronaldo celebrated the five-goal haul with pictures of his team mates at Espanyol and only one of himself in the three images.

On Instagram, Ronaldo simply added three thumbs-up emojis and a football to the picture.
