Since picking up a nasty knee injury against Manchester United in the Premier League, Chelsea have already missed Kurt Zouma.
Guus Hiddink has been forced into reshuffles at the back with Zouma out and then John Terry coming off injured against Newcastle in the Premier League.
The French defender has been excellent for Chelsea since arriving at the start of last season and moved ahead of Gary Cahill in the pecking order during 2015/2016.
As a result of Zouma’s absence, Branislav Ivanovic played at centre back against PSG in midweek and is expected to continue there with Terry still injured for tomorrow’s FA Cup match against Manchester City.
On Saturday evening, Zouma confirmed on Instagram that his operation had been a success.
The Chelsea defender wrote: “Hello my friends ! I came back home Yesterday night from Barcelona after a very good operation.”
The initial prognosis for Zouma was that he would miss the rest of the season and Euro 2016.
