Ipswich 1 – Birmingham 0
Harry Redknapp’s Birmingham started the Championship season on Saturday with a 1-0 defeat Ipswich.
Joe Garner did the damage with a goal five minutes after half-time and Harry Redknapp was in typical form during and after the match.
Redknapp used just one substitute during the whole match and after the game was pretty damning in his assessment of the options he had on the bench.

Ashley Cole to Birmingham?
For quite a few weeks now, Ashley Cole, the former Arsenal, Chelsea and England left back has been heavily linked to Birmingham.
When questioned about a move to the Championship in recent days, Cole confirmed that he is out of contract with LA Galaxy in six months and is considering his options.
The 36-year-old certainly fits the bill as a player Harry Redknapp would likely sign.
Ashley Cole drops major Birmingham hint on Instagram
On Saturday, Birmingham fans got rather excited when Cole posted a picture on Instagram where he appears to be travelling.
Cole added emojis of a plane and a football, with the comments of the post covered in Birmingham fans reacting.
A selection include: “Hopefully on route to Birmingham City.” And, “Welcome to Birmingham City”.
Portland Timbers v LA Galaxy on Sunday
Plenty of Chelsea fans also seem keen for Cole to return to Stamford Bridge, which seems like a transfer that just isn’t happening.
Whilst Cole is not wearing LA Galaxy clothes in the picture, it is entirely possible that the former England left back is simply travelling to play Portland Timbers in the MLS on Sunday…
Plenty of Birmingham fans have noticed the Ashley Cole Instagram update, see some Tweets below as well as the initial post.
