Chelsea fans singled out one player for love vs Stoke

Chelsea vs Stoke

Stoke were always likely to be beaten at Chelsea on Saturday.

Mark Hughes returned to Stamford Bridge with a defence missing a host of stars.

Kurt Zouma was out of the game as per the terms of his season long loan deal from Chelsea.

Bruno Martins Indi was already ruled out with a long term injury. Also out of contention were Erik Pieters, Glen Johnson and Ryan Shawcross.

And so it wasn’t a surprise the game was over inside 24 minutes.

Antonio Rudiger opened with a header. Danny Drinkwater doubled the lead with a stunner from outside the box – his first goal for Chelsea.

Pedro Rodriguez added a third with a fine strike from the edge of the Stoke area.

Willian singled out for praise

It’s not always been the easiest time for Willian at Chelsea this season.

Fans have often turned to on the Brazilian for his performances. Chelsea fans always seem to be divided over Willian.

Some of them love him, and others aren’t really big fans of the player, and along with Gary Cahill, he seems to get the most stick on Twitter.

But against Stoke, the South American earned praise for after two assists in the first half.

Willian delivered the free-kick fro Rudiger’s opener, before he teed up Pedro for number three.

In total this season Willian has scored twice and assisted six times in the Premier League for Chelsea.
