Antonio Conte

Chelsea fans single out one player for hate after Man City

Chelsea lose to Man City

As we head into the international break, Chelsea are fourth in the Premier League.

Chelsea have now been beaten twice on home soil this season.

Burnley opened the campaign with a 3-2 win over the reigning champions, while Man City won 1-0 on Saturday night.

Former Chelsea player Kevin De Bruyne came back to haunt his old employers. The Belgian scored a brilliant goal in the second half to keep Man City top of the pile.

Poor Alvaro Morata

Chelsea fans may point to Alvaro Morata’s first half substitution as the turning point in the game.

Morata, who had six goals in six Premier League matches, exited the pitch in the first half with a hamstring problem.

That’s likely to mean the Spanish international is out of action for two to three weeks.

Willian attracts hate

After Morata went off, Antonio Conte replaced him with Willian.

Why didn’t Conte bring on Michy Batschuayi instead?

Without a recognised striker in the team, Chelsea struggled to create clear cut opportunities against the Sky Blues.

And that opened up the social media floodgates for haters to rip on Willian.

The Brazilian was singled out in the Man City defeat, some claiming he’s no longer good enough to play for the club.
