Pedro v David Ospina

Chelsea fans fume at Arsenal’s Ospina after Pedro’s KO

Pedro v David Ospina

Saturday was generally a terrific day for Chelsea, except for one incident involving Pedro.

The Blues handed Arsenal their first defeat of pre-season, as Chelsea ran out 3-0 winners over the Gunners in the Bird’s Nest in Beijing.

Willian broke the deadlock, before Michy Batshuayi chipped in with a brace.

However Chelsea’s win came at a cost for Pedro, after the Spanish forward was knocked out by Gunners keeper David Ospina.

The Colombian stopper raced off his line to beat Pedro to a ball over the top, but Ospina took out the Blues forward at the same time.

Indeed, Pedro was wiped out by the collision, blood flowed, and he was taken to hospital as a result.

What happened?

After the match Antonio Conte revealed that Pedro suffered a concussion in the challenge with Ospina. Speaking to Chelsea TV, the Italian said:

Pedro went to the hospital and for sure he should be okay but I think he had concussion.

For this reason, our doctor preferred to take him to the hospital and check him in the right way.

It is a pity because in this period it is not good to have this type of injury but he should be okay.

For sure he stays here [in Beijing] and then if the situation is okay he will come tomorrow to Singapore.

Pedro takes to social media

On Saturday night, Pedro took to social media to keep Chelsea fans updated with his situation.

Fans rage

While it’s difficult to believe that Ospina intentionally went out to hurt Pedro, Chelsea fans were quick to remember the Arsenal goalie has form in this regard.

Who can forget when Ospina knocked out Oscar in similar circumstances?
