Cesc Fabregas, 300 up
It was a special Saturday for Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas.
Not always a starter for Antonio Conte this season, Fabregas was handed a starting berth in the Premier League match against Swansea.
It was Cesc’s 300th match in the English top flight, and he’s the first Spanish player to achieve that milestone.
Fabregas marked the occasion scoring the opener in a 3-1 Blues home win at Stamford Bridge.
Cesc Fabregas touches on his Arsenal past
Cesc began his career in England with Arsenal before he moved to Barcelona 2011.
Many Gooners believed that if the player ever returned to England he’d rejoin them.
But if the truth be told, the reason Fabregas never returned to Arsenal after his time at Barcelona is because Arsene Wenger opted against signing the midfielder.
Cesc, in turn, joined Chelsea, and he’s since been targeted as a traitor by many Arsenal fans.
Nevertheless, despite all that background, Cesc appeared to thank Arsenal on his 300th match, as he wrote:
A perfect way to celebrate my 300th game in the PL. First ever Spanish player to reach this milestone. I am very proud. Thank you to everyone who made this possible.
