Bournemouth got away with two horror fouls vs West Ham

Bournemouth vs West Ham

The first half between Bournemouth and West Ham on Boxing Day was a lively affair.

The Vitaly Stadium witnessed two goals in a thrilling forty five minutes.

Moreover, Bournemouth could have been reduced to nine men for two horror incidents.

West Ham took the lead from a corner. An inswinging delivery from Aaron Cresswell was headed home by James Collins.

But the lead didn’t last long. Bournemouth levelled the game through Dan Gosling’s shot in the Irons box.

Simon Francis & Josh King fouls

Should Bournemouth’s Simon Francis and Josh King have been sent off against West Ham?

In the first incident involving Simon Francis, the Bournemouth defender took out West Ham’s Cheikhou Kouyate with a horrific kick to the face.

Francis was booked by the official. That means he’ll not face any retrospective action.

But a yellow card for this?! Surely a red card was more appropriate for such reckless tackling?!

Josh King is likely to be in far hotter water.

The Bournemouth striker was caught on camera ‘punching’ Pedro Obiang in the face.

That incident was unseen by the match officials, which opens up the possibility of a retrospective punishment.

Will King receive a three match ban? That would be a disaster for Eddie Howe, who has lost Jermain Defoe to injury for the next two months.
