Bobby Madley slaughtered after Bournemouth 3 – West Ham 3

Bournemouth 3 – West Ham 3

What a match. What action. And what an unbelievably horrific performance from referee Bobby Madley.

Will the Premier League referee be punished for his terrible 96 minutes at the Vitality Stadium?

In a ding-dong affair that had a bit of everything, James Collins opened for West Ham in the first half before Dan Gosling made it 1-1 at the break.

Nathan Ake fired Bournemouth into the lead in the 57th minute, but then David Moyes watched his Hammers stage a fightback.

Marko Arnautovic was the hero for the Irons as he bagged a quick-fire double to swing the match in West Ham’s favour.

But in injury time Bournemouth found a 3-3 leveller through Callum Wilson.

Referee Bobby Madley slaughtered

So many decisions were appallingly dealt with by referee Bobby Madley.

That was particularly true from a West Ham perspective.

In the first half Bournemouth could easily have been reduced to nine men against the Irons.

In the first incident involving Simon Francis, the Bournemouth defender took out West Ham’s Cheikhou Kouyate with a horrific kick to the face.

Francis was booked by the official. That means he’ll not face any retrospective action.

But a yellow card for this?! Surely a red card was more appropriate for such reckless tackling?!

Josh King is likely to be in far hotter water.

The Bournemouth striker was caught on camera ‘punching’ Pedro Obiang in the face.

That incident was unseen by the match officials, which opens up the possibility of a retrospective punishment.

Will King receive a three match ban? That would be a disaster for Eddie Howe, who has lost Jermain Defoe to injury for the next two months.

Callum Wilson’s offside, handball goal

But the biggest talking point of the game will be Callum Wilson’s offside, handball goal at the death.

The goal was initially flagged up by the linesman.

But after several minutes of protests and arguments between the players and officials, ref Madley overturned the decision in the Cherries’ favour.

In was an outrageous decision which cost West Ham a huge three points in their bid to beat the drop.
