Benjamin Mendy’s brilliant tweets from his hospital bed as Man City beat Chelsea

Man City beat Chelsea

An enormous result for Pep Guardiola.

Man City made a massive statement of intent at Stamford Bridge on Saturday night as they beat Chelsea 1-0.

The win was a deserved three points for the Sky Blues, who saw Fernadinho’s bullet header saved by a terrific stop from Thibaut Courtois in the first half.

Chelsea’s first half was dented with the loss of Alvaro Morata. Looking like he hurt his hamstring, the Spanish international may be out for three weeks.

The pivotal moment in the game came in the 66th minute.

Kevin De Bruyne, the former Chelsea upstart, punished his former employers with a beauty. He pinged a left-footed strike into the far corner of the net.

It was a peach of a strike, and KDB’s second goal of the season after he scored in midweek Champions League action.

Benjamin Mendy’s brilliant live

It’s been a rough week for Benjamin Mendy.

The French defender seems to have been ruled out for nine months. That’s after he ruptured his ACL against Crystal Palace last weekend.

He’s since been operated on, and he’s now in hospital recovering.

With Mendy now away from the pitch, he showed his support for Man City on Saturday night on social media.

Throughout the Chelsea game, Mendy posted live tweets commentating on the match.

After Kevin De Bruyne scored, the defender joked that the Belgian found the target with his weaker foot.
