Bayern Munich use Holocaust imagery in poster for the Juventus game

Bayern Munich have sparked controversy for a poster ahead of tonight’s Champions League match with Juventus.

Bayern uploaded an image on their social media page that included Holocaust imagery.

At the foot of the graphic were train tracks, that had a stop sign which many people felt evoked images of the concentration camps.

Corriere dello Sport have spoken to a member of the Italian Jewish community, who has spoken out about the poster:

It’s big error that a club like Bayern should avoid doing.

An error like this s unacceptable for a club like Bayern, who always pay attention to communication. I do not want to think that this was done in bad faith, that would be very serious, indeed I want to confirm that it was an oversight. Sensational, but an oversight.

I am a Roma fan but tonight I want to see Juventus win, especially after this big mistake from Bayern.

Bayern has since issued an apology for the poster.
