Arsenal & West Ham fans react badly to Ronald Koeman being sacked

Everton sack Ronald Koeman

On Monday Everton did it.

The day after they lost 5-2 at home to Arsenal, Everton sacked manager Ronald Koeman.

Everton made their announcement saying:

Everton Football Club can confirm that Ronald Koeman has left the Club.

Chairman Bill Kenwright, the Board of Directors and Major Shareholder Farhad Moshiri would all like to express their gratitude to Ronald for the service he has given to the Club over the past 16 months and for guiding the Club to seventh place in last season’s Premier League campaign.

Is it a smart move?

No one can be surprised that Koeman is gone from Goodison Park.

The defeat to Arsenal saw Everton drop into the bottom three of the Premier League.

That comes after a major summer at the Toffees, where the club spent 170 million pounds on new talent.

But Everton’s summer recruitment seemed wholly unbalanced.

Why did they sign so many creative types – Wayne Rooney, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Davy Klaassen – while failing to replace the giant hole left by Romelu Lukaku’s move to Man United?

And, now that Koeman is gone, Everton still can’t bring in a new striker. Until January, at least.

And who will take over Koeman’s job? From the outside it seems that Everton haven’t got a manager lined up to instantly replace the Dutch coach.

Arsenal & West Ham fans react

Everton fans are generally happy, however that Koeman is gone.

Arsenal and West Ham supporters, meanwhile, have been annoyed by the Koeman update.

Why? Because while Everton have acted rather quickly in ending Koeman’s reign, Arsene Wenger is going nowhere at Arsenal after he signed a two year deal last summer, while Slaven Bilic is still at West Ham.
