Arsenal old boy Lukas Podolski accused of human trafficking by Breitbart

Breitbart & Lukas Podolski

Right-wing website Breitbart have made a bad error over the weekend suggesting that Arsenal old boy Lukas Podolski is somehow involved in human trafficking.

Not only is Podolski supposed in a criminal gang, he’s accused of transporting migrants on jet-skis into Spain.

If true, German World Cup winner Podolski would be one of the most incredible criminals the world has ever seen, as he’s currently based in Japan after a summer move to Asia.

Podolski now plays for Vissel Kobe in the J-League. The former Arsenal forward has two goals in his opening four matches.

First league game for me and first win. Thanks for the great support ⚽️👊🏻 公式戦初出場で初勝利✌🏻最高の応援に感謝👏🏻 #vissel #poldi #japan #jleague

Human trafficking & fake news

Let’s be clear.

Of course there is no way that Lukas Podolski is involved in human trafficking.

Instead, Breitbart have opened themselves up for ridicule after they used a stock image of the German star on the back of a jet-ski for their scare piece.

Did no-one think to fact check? Obviously not.

Will there be an apology? Don’t hold your breathe…
