Arsenal botched it: Liverpool fans hail Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Liverpool 2 – Newcastle United 0

Liverpool moved second in the Premier League on Saturday with a 2-0 win over Newcastle.

Mohamed Salah fired the Reds in the lead after an assist from Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

In the second half Sadio Mane doubled the advantage after combing with Roberto Firmino.

When Liverpool signed Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain from Arsenal in the summer transfer window, many raised eyebrows.

The Ox was labelled a flop by many Gooners, who were happy to see the back of him.

And Liverpool shelled out 35 million pounds for a player who was going to be a free agent 12 months later. So Liverpool were mugged off right?

After early criticism in his first few months at Anfield, Oxlade-Chamberlain has found form.

Oxlade-Chamberlain now has two goals and five assists in his last ten starts. That’s more than he managed in all competitions in five of his six seasons at Arsenal.
