Arsenal lose at Chelsea
How much pressure is Unai Emery already under at the Emirates Stadium?
After two matches at the start of the Premier League season, Arsenal are pointless.
The Gunners have had two defeats against Man City and Chelsea to begin Emery’s reign.
On Saturday at Stamford Bridge, Arsenal blew it against the Blues.
Having been 2-down, Arsenal rallied back to 2-2 at the break. Indeed, the Gunners had plenty of chances to head into the break in front.
Yet Chelsea won the match in the final stages when Marcos Alonso found the target.
Cesar Azpilicueta & Mateo Kovacic
Arsenal fans have taken to social media in the aftermath of the Chelsea game to complain.
Referee Martin Atkinson has come in for some online flak for decisions involving Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta and Mateo Kovacic.
One of the glorious chances which came Arsenal’s way in the first half fell to Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
The Armenia skied an effort over the bar, before he later found the net in the game.
But in the build-up to Mkhitaryan’s terrible shot, should Arsenal have won a penalty?
Gooners are wondering why Azpilicueta didn’t give away a penalty when he blocked a Mesut Ozil shot with his arm.
Arsenal fans are also furious with Mateo Kovacic.
The Croatian made his Premier League debut having joined Chelsea on loan from Real Madrid.
Kovacic had one significant moment in the build-up to Alonso’s winner.
Kovacic won the free-kick which lead to Chelsea’s third goal of the game.
But did the Croat dive? Kovacic fell on the floor after minimal contact with Aaron Ramsey in midfield.

Did you see the dive by Kovacic a minute before the 3:2?

That’s a handball from Azpilicueta. Clear as day, 2 penalties in 2 games 😴

Chelsea's third goal came after they were awarded a free kick from a Kovacic dive. The referee (obviously) failed to spot that.

Not a single mention in the media of the Kovacic dive which led to the Chelsea winner, but remember last season when a soft free kick 45 yard from goal “decided the match” against Spurs?

Can we also talk about that kovacic fellas dive, the bloke fell seconds before Ramsey even got close and the ref still give him the free kick, the standard of Premier league refs is truly abysmal, their decisions change games far too often.
