Arsenal fans argue with each other on Twitter after Stan Kroenke takeover news

Arsene Wenger celebrates v Manchester City

Stan Kroenke owns Arsenal

The news broke early on Tuesday morning: Stan Kroenke is taking over total ownership of Arsenal.

Kroenke is buying out Arsenal’s second largest shareholder Alisher Usmanov.

Usmanov is set to sell his 30% shareholding in Arsenal for around  £550 million.

That values Arsenal at a total of £1.8 billion.

Once Kroenke, who already owns 67% of the club,  owns Usmanov share too, the American will be able to force a compulsory buy-up of all the remaining Arsenal shares.

Those shares are currently owned by fans of the club.

Arsenal fans turn on each other

And just like that, all the good atmosphere surrounding Unai Emery’s start at Arsenal has gone.

Arsenal fans are now worried about the future of their club.

While, as could have been predicted, some Arsenal fans are turning on each other on social media.

The Arsenal Supporters’ Trust, AST, are coming under attack from certain sections on the Gunners fanbase.

The AST have come out against Kroenke’s takeover, but have they left their actions too late?
